This newly added roleplay zone brings the Western theme to life, with players wandering the area, interacting with one another, and engaging with the environment in true frontier fashion. Added this year by popular request, the space is designed to encourage walk-up RP and immersive character moments throughout the festival. We hope you enjoy the atmosphere and make it your own.

A brief history of the area:Your Shaaloani Everyday
Hhusatahwi is a trading town used to having people coming and going, despite only having been founded just a few years ago by the sheriff's family. The sheriff & co recently arrested the deputy sheriff, Wihuwte, for secretly being evil, who can be found by the Hhusatahwi aetherite doing community service. Besides Wihuwte's people, who've scattered to the winds, recent criminal activity includes The Passage Of The Unbound, a mysterious and dastardly group of outlaws from all over the world, acting all over the world, who seek to become unbound by the conventions and laws of modern society and behave however they please, occasionally meeting in the Hhusatahwi saloon and refusing to pay their tabs. Their brave and beautiful leader has recently been arrested, but the truly free will never let something like gaoltime silence the call of the decidedly liberated!Heritage Unlost and Found
30 malms northwest from the town the lightning dome appeared one day, effectively instantly aging everyone living around Yyasulani Station by 30 years due to dimensional time displacement. There's a sci-fi city in there now. The dome came down far enough away that Hhusatahwi wasn't directly affected, but was close enough that it's very likely everyone knew someone who lived there or had been there at some point in their lives. The previous leaders of Solution 9 had sent troops directly through Shaaloani to massacre and assassinate the previous Dawnservant in Tuliyollal - though deaths did happen, fighting in Hhusatahwi itself was minimal, and the situation has been mostly resolved by the current Dawnservants, current leadership in Solution 9, and their friends.A New Season for Hhusatahwi
With good relations stabilized between Tural and Solution 9, The Shaaloani Showdown is being hosted by Chiisai Smol and their Milala-Lalafell community hailing from the Ninth's Treno, a trade city and sister in spirt to Hhusatahwi, which this community has made their home in. Heidi has been asked by her sister Madeleif to manage and oversee harvesting of nopalitender tunas across the region while she is preoccupied with the travel agency in Kozamau'ka! Imported or treated water is something of a commodity or even luxury all across Shaaloani. This means Nopalitender tunas and cactus pads are a key source of hydration locally and a means for survival on the trails.Heidi agrees, as she had been procrastinating a return trip to the region and feels passionately about agriculture efforts in the area which is currently beset by industrialization and ceruleum mining.Heidi and the gang have been in Shaaloani for a few days now. Their last destination is in the cactus patch in town during the annual Shaaloani showdown! For some reason, local nopalitenders are acting erratically, seemingly envious of or even offended by the rich soil the crops enjoy. Or perhaps its the loud festivities? Its anyone's guess, as their presence and heckling of townfolk isn't exactly uncommon.

A loud, lovable local who insists he’s the acting sheriff, reigning Showdown champion, and all-around hero of the town… despite absolutely zero proof. He inserts himself into everything, conducts “official” interviews, and claims he’s just making sure the town’s in good hands.The joke isn’t that he’s stupid....... it’s that he’s confidently wrong.

Traveling Saloon Scavenger Hunt
Seems our traveling saloon rolled into Shaaloani a little later than planned… and in the rush to set up, we didn’t have time to unpack proper. So we did what any sensible crew would do — tossed all our crates, gear, and odds and ends into a nearby building and called it a day.Trouble is, mixed in with all that mess were 5 important envelopes meant for the Showdown — orders, winnings, and a few things we’d rather not have gone missin’. Somewhere between the hauling, the drinking, and the chaos, they’ve been scattered across the saloon.Now it’s up to you. Search the premises high and low, dig through the clutter, and see if you can track down all five envelopes hidden within the mess.The first five folks to find all five will earn 500,000 gil each, and the next five will walk away with 100,000 gil.Keep your eyes sharp, partner… not everything in that saloon is where it oughta be.Housing design by: Lexa Frost,
WANTED
Trouble’s brewing in Shaaloani. Outlaws are roaming the festival grounds with bounties on their heads, and it’s up to sharp-eyed deputies and rival gunslingers to bring them in. Keep an eye out as you explore, and if you recognize a familiar face from a WANTED poster, turn them in and claim the reward.Check the Discord regularly to see who’s being hunted and how much they’re worth.
Look for wanted posters around the festival, if you see any of these criminals its your job to turn them in to the police!To "Capture" an outlaw, walk up to them and say "I've got you now criminal!" This is the only phrase that will get them to submit and follow you to the jailhouse where you will hand them over to an officer. These criminals are pretty elusive and constantly escaping so keep a sharp eye out.
